The Matterhorn Village
Chalet La Vue is ideally located in Zermatt and offers you in close proximity all possibilities to experience Zermatt and the Matterhorn: while hiking or snowshoeing, skiing or snowboarding, biking or on a family excursion.
Zermatt and Matterhorn
Zermatt is located at the foot of Matterhorn, the most frequently photographed mountain in the world, 1610 m above sea level near the Italian border of the canton of Valais in the west of Switzerland. For our guests from abroad Zermatt is everything that they imagine Switzerland to be: high up in the mountains, sophisticated yet traditional. Almost a third of all the Alpine peaks over 4000 m surround the village, which has been frequented by mountaineers from all over the world since the Matterhorn was first climbed in 1865.
The skiing and walking resort Zermatt is not only the highest in the Alps but is also considered one of the best worldwide. The climate is amazingly hospitable: there are 300 days of sun per year and less rain than anywhere else in Switzerland. Zermatt air is clear, dry and clean, for in the village you will only find electric vehicles – and that has been the case since 1947.
